The Opportunity

Our client is an independent global energy company with presence across Southeast Asia, Middle East, Europe and Africa. They focus on the trading, supply, and distribution of crude, petrochemical, refined and biofuel products. Operating with agility and market expertise, the company specializes in identifying value across volatile energy markets and ensuring reliable delivery to commercial and industrial clients globally. With a growing emphasis on sustainability, The company is actively expanding its portfolio to include cleaner energy alternatives while maintaining a strong foundation in conventional energy supply chains. They are currently seeking a Senior Fertilizer Trader in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the company's new fertilizer desk.
  • Manage the procurement and sales of fertilizer products in compliance with company risk policies and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong connections with suppliers, clients, and partners to broaden the company's trading reach and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Secure advantageous pricing agreements with both suppliers and customers for competitive and profitable trading outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to define new role requirements, recommend necessary qualifications, participate in interviews, and contribute to final hiring choices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent
  • 10 – 15 years of relevant experience within fertilizer trading regionally/globally
  • Working experience in containerized shipment of physical commodity and its documentation
  • Understanding of seller and buyer contracts
  • Excellent connections with overseas stakeholders (buyer and sellers)
  • Proven track record of profitable trading (globally)
