As an Adaptive consultant, you will be fully supported by the Simmons & Simmons team with a sponsoring Partner and a client team with whom we would encourage you to engage on a regular basis. You will have access to the firm's resources and Know-how and have the opportunity to be involved in training and development at the Firm. Main purpose of the role: Simmons Adaptive is currently seeking compliance consultants for a live client assignment with one of the firm’s key global clients. You will be responsible for: Ensure effective control framework and compliance program that comply with Singapore MAS, U.S. SEC, HK SFC and CIMA regulations through on-going review and testing programs, including but not limited to annual regulatory reporting and quarterly filing, compliance system maintenance, annual compliance training coordination, etc.; Monitor newly establishment or revision of relevant laws and regulations from regulators and specify any impacts on the existing business; Liaise with regulatory bodies to develop a good relationship with the regulators by two ways regular communication process and maintain a form of “partnership’ relationship; Coordination with all departments to ensure the Company’s policies and procedures are up-to-date; Conduct Compliance check for a new product or service to ensure its sufficiency of compliance with the relevant laws and regulations; Conduct Compliance Test and Review over activities in the Company to ensure compliance with the relevant laws, regulations and the Company’s internal rules and provide advice to management and other departments from the point of compliance with regulatory/legal requirements, as well as keeping management abreast of the compliance concerns, including areas of weakness and propose new or changing laws, regulations and rules. Investigate and assess AML/CFT alerts, incidents and cases, as well as, escalate suspicious circumstances and/or activities; Serve as the SG Data Protection Officer; Perform any other compliance duties as assigned. Person specification: You are a qualified Solicitor with minimum 6 years of compliance experience, working in fund managers, banks or other financial industry players. You are a Bachelor Degree Holder. You have ICA or ACAMS qualifications will be advantageous. You are familiar with MAS CMFAS licences, policies, guideline, risk framework is crucial. Knowledge with regulations in other jurisdiction will be an added advantage. You are confident with liaising with the local regulator. Previous relevant experience will be advantageous. You are able to prioritise and multi-task, handle ad-hoc projects as and when required. You are motivated and possess self-initiative to learn and work with other stakeholders.
