Major Duties :
To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement;
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
To take up coordinator / supervisory role of the programme when necessary;
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions;
To attend meetings when necessary; and
To promote student admission activities.
Requirements :
A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience, preferably in the field of Aviation Services;
Good communication, teaching and presentation skills in both English and Chinese, preferably including Cantonese and Putonghua;
A good team player with a proactive attitude;
Preferably with knowledge and experience in curriculum and new module development;
Candidate(s) with good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies and/or good understanding of VPET education would be an advantage; and
Proficiency in Putonghua:
Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or
Received a bachelor’s degree or above of which the medium of instruction is Putonghua; or
Have at least over 3 years’ work experience in relation to the Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions (Singapore, Taiwan, etc.); or
Attainment of Grade 3B at the Putonghua Shuipin Ceshi (普通話水平測試三級乙等) or above.
Specific Requirements:
Solid experience working in the aviation industry, specifically in inflight passenger service, with a focus on customer service and safety procedures; or
Familiar with the operation of the aviation industry (commercial sector), or other passenger transports (Cruise / Railway / Bus), preferably in passenger services (both front-line & back-end) and management; or
Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, emergency protocols, and industry best practices is an advantage.
Notes :
Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for the post of "Term Assistant Lecturer" at the rank of Teaching Associate.
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
The initial posting is in IVE (Tsing Yi).
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
The appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis.
