An opportunity has arisen for a career-minded individual to join MSC South East Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd as Coordinator, Operations Stowage .

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Coordinator, Operations Stowage , you will be part of a dynamic Shipping Operations team responsible for daily stowage planning, vessel husbanding, clearance arrangements, delivery of ship spares, bunker replenishment, and scheduling coordination with terminals to ensure efficient and cost-effective vessel operations in Singapore. This role offers the chance to work across diverse cultures and build a strong professional network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate stowage plans with terminals, including handling DG applications and declarations to authorities;
  • Submit Arrival Bayplan via EDI to PSA Terminal;
  • Submit Stowage Instruction to PSA Terminal;
  • Provide Final Loading Forecast to Sorrento Planner;
  • Finalize loading plans with Master/Chief onboard vessels;
  • Submit Terminal Departure Reports, Tug and Pilot Reports, Vessel Performance Reports, and send Singapore Departure Bayplan to GVA;
  • Prepare Vessel Disbursement Estimates for the Accounts Department;
  • Update Vessel Call Information (VCI) via MSC's in-house system;
  • Coordinate stowage with PSA, Central Planner, and vessels;
  • Apply for vessel berths according to long-term schedules;
  • Update berthing status based on vessel arrival notices;
  • Manage hazardous cargo applications and declarations to port authorities;
  • Inform inward documentation regarding DG for local discharges;
  • Handle DG-related queries from overseas agents regarding restrictions;
  • Coordinate with slot partners and improve workflow processes;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Maritime or related field;
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant shipping experience;
  • Knowledge of container/stowage planning;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Experience with Portnet system;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work under stress and tight deadlines;
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented.
