Delivering High-Quality Support Services

The Youth Care Worker is a critical role in delivering trauma-informed care, supervision, and management to female adolescents who have faced abuse or neglect. This position requires the individual to enhance the overall wellness and quality of life for residents by comprehensively addressing their basic personal, physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operational Duties and Supervision

Carry out daily operational duties and supervise residents in their regular activities, ensuring their welfare and safety at all times.

Support and Mentorship

Assist residents with any difficulties related to day-to-day issues and promote discipline among them by being a positive mentor/role model.

Crisis Management and Therapeutic Interventions

Assess, respond to, and handle crises or conflicts that may arise, as well as carry out individual therapeutic interventions based on care plans developed by the treatment team.

Comprehensive Support

Participate in providing physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social support to residents, ensuring their comprehensive needs are met.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants must have:

  • Experience Working with At-Risk Youth

A proven track record of working with young people who have experienced trauma and adversity.

Basic Processing and Counselling Skills

The ability to provide effective support and guidance to residents using basic processing and counselling skills.

Knowledge of Trauma and Abuse Issues

An understanding of common issues and disorders associated with trauma and abuse, as well as knowledge of how to effectively address these challenges.

Flexibility and Adaptability

The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, including rotating shifts and weekend/public holiday duties.
