About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Specialist to lead our project QS team in ensuring effective cost management and contract administration.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of contractual obligations, construction law, tendering procedures, and variation/claim management.

The role involves:

  • Cost Management: Monitoring and controlling project costs in line with financial projections.
  • Variation Management: Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating variations, claims, and other contractual entitlements with clients and consultants.
  • Contract Administration: Ensuring accurate and timely cost reporting, forecasting, and financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Procurement: Overseeing procurement and administration of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultant services.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and highlighting key commercial and contractual risks.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Solid understanding of contract and construction law, tendering procedures, contract conditions, and variation/claim management.
  • Strong cost control skills with a proven track record in managing project finances.
  • Able to lead QS team with hands-on approach and work well under a fast-paced environment.
