An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing sales team within MarketAxess, itself a leading fixed income trading & data company. We are uniquely positioned in the Fixed Income data marketplace, owning a significant amount of proprietary data which is much in demand from both buy side and dealer clients.

The sales role is responsible for generating new sales within Asia and achieving set sales targets. This will be accomplished within the standards and procedures set out as part of the sales position.

They will work as part of the broader Data Group team with the joint aim of increasing revenue, customer retention, relationship building and generating new data contribution. Will also work with other teams within the business both in Asia and across the UK and US.

This role is responsible for:

  • Generating revenue, growing the existing book of business and protecting the current business by retaining key Clients. On boarding new contributor data through sales of "Give to Get" data subscriptions.

General Support Responsibilities Include:

Supporting and working within the Data team as well as working with other business areas

Knowledge/Experience

  • Identify key target and priorities both firm and individually for revenue and contribution opportunities by product/use case in the region. Look to leverage existing relationships with these firms or create a new introduction
  • Able to demonstrate success in identifying and creating opportunities and closing new business sales. Able to frame the user proposition to the customer.
  • Able to qualify and manage sales through a lifecycle, following standard sales procedures and processes.
  • Able to demonstrate success in achieving set sales targets within specified timelines.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal, and possess strong presentation skills to ensure quality service to a diverse range of clients.
  • Proven track record as an effective team player in the region and remotely

Skills/Personal Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Be prepared to travel within the geographical locations of allocated accounts and display strong flexibility conducive to working in a busy sales environment.
  • Proven track record of confident communication with all levels of customer seniority.
  • Management and influencing skills, particularly across client accounts, teams and locations.

  • Some financial market experience and knowledge with a good understanding of fixed income.
  • Possesses established relationships with senior contacts within the European fixed income community.
  • Educated to at least degree level, specialised training, or equivalent work experience an advantage.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Presentation skills
  • Understanding of the fixed income markets, particularly for the Asian region and who the players are within the credit markets.
  • Familiarity with the different regulatory regimes in the APAC region to ensure compliance – i.e., soliciting business in some APAC jurisdictions is prohibited.
  • Experience and understanding of data sales.
  • Able to identify and qualify potential new business opportunities
