Job Overview:
We are looking for a Mid-Level 3D Generalist with a strong multi-disciplinary skill set in modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, and rendering for high-speed commercial and advertising projects. This role requires a versatile artist capable of handling various tasks across the 3D pipeline while maintaining a high-quality standard under tight deadlines.
You will work closely with Leads, Creative Directors, and VFX Supervisors to bring concepts to life, contributing to the creation of photorealistic assets, motion graphics, and dynamic visuals for commercials, TV spots, and branded content.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on a wide range of 3D tasks, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, animation, and rendering.
Follow creative direction from Lead 3D Artists, Art Directors, and VFX Supervisors to deliver high-quality visuals.
Optimize assets and scenes for fast turnarounds in commercials and advertising.
Create photo-realistic materials and shaders for CG assets.
Set up basic animations, camera moves, and dynamic simulations for quick iterations.
Work efficiently with Redshift, Arnold, V-Ray, or Octane to produce photorealistic renders.
Collaborate with Compositing and Motion Graphics Artists to ensure seamless integration of CG elements.
Adapt to last-minute client changes and quickly revise assets as needed.
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience as a 3D Generalist in commercials, advertising, or short-form content.
Proficiency in Maya, Blender, Houdini, or Cinema 4D.
Experience with Substance Painter, Mari, or Photoshop for texturing.
Strong understanding of lighting, shading, and rendering techniques in Redshift, Arnold, V-Ray, or Octane.
Knowledge of PBR workflows, UV unwrapping, and procedural textures.
Ability to work on tight deadlines and high-speed commercial production environments.
Some experience with basic rigging and animation (though not a full animator).
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with real-time rendering (Unreal Engine, Unity) for commercial visualization.
Knowledge of Motion Graphics workflows in After Effects or Houdini.
Familiarity with camera tracking, projection mapping, and photogrammetry.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Adaptable and can shift between different tasks within the 3D pipeline.
Work under pressure and deliver polished results in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Strong attention to detail and can refine assets quickly based on feedback.
Proactive and collaborative, working well with both artists and clients.
