Front Desk Receptionist Job Description
This role is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic.
- Warmly greet patients and visitors, making them feel at ease
- Handle calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries with professionalism and care
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments accurately
- Explain practitioners' services and treatment options clearly
Patient Care & Support
The front desk coordinator will be the first point of contact for patients, handling a variety of tasks including:
- Registering new patients and updating records with precision
- Managing payments (cash, credit, or insurance) and issuing receipts
- Keeping the front desk and waiting area tidy and welcoming
- Handling daily administrative tasks like filing and data entry
TCM-Specific Tasks
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts, including:
- Understanding basic TCM terms and treatments (acupuncture, cupping, herbal prescriptions)
- Assisting in preparing and selling prescribed herbal formulas and products
- Providing patients with clear instructions for herbal preparation and use
- Monitoring and managing inventory for front-office and retail items
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Prior front desk, admin, or customer service experience
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused attitude
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Comfort with basic computer systems for scheduling and records
Bonus Skills
If you have experience with sales presentations, sales, department stores, product marketing, ability to work independently, sales excellence, customer care, selling, communication skills, or pricing, that's a bonus
