Menu and wine knowledge : Discuss menu items in detail, offer knowledgeable recommendations for both food and wine pairings, and be able to memorize complex menus and wine lists. Service delivery : Serve food and beverages according to established etiquette and standards, often involving tableside preparation and ensuring perfect plating and presentation. Table maintenance : Continuously monitor and maintain table appearance, including refreshing water glasses, clearing used dishes, and ensuring the dining area is clean and organized. Collaboration : Coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff to ensure orders are correct and delivered on time, and with other front-of-house staff as needed. Problem‐solving : Address guest complaints or issues promptly, professionally, and discreetly. Preparation and closing : Perform side work, which includes stocking supplies, polishing silverware, and preparing and resetting tables for the next guests. Requirements and skills 3 years experience in fine dining or a high‐end restaurant. Strong knowledge of wines and food and beverage pairings. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A high level of attention to detail and a polished appearance. The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
