We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Sommelier to join our fine dining restaurant's front-of-house team. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and has a strong interest in wines and beverages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wine Service Support : Assist the Restaurant Manager in daily wine service operations, ensuring seamless delivery of fine dining standards.
  • Wine Selection and Recommendations : Provide expert guidance to guests on wine selection and pairing options based on their preferences and menu choices.
  • Beverage Presentations : Professionally present, open, and serve wine and other beverages according to fine dining standards.
  • Inventory Management : Maintain and update wine lists and menu pairings as required, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stocktaking and Organization : Assist in stocktaking, wine cellar organization, and proper storage conditions to ensure optimal beverage quality.
  • Knowledge Sharing : Keep up-to-date knowledge of wine regions, vintages, and beverage trends, providing basic training and knowledge sharing with the service team.
  • Grooming and Communication Standards : Uphold excellent grooming and communication standards at all times, reflecting positively on the establishment.

Requirements

  • WSET Certification : Hold WSET Level 2 or equivalent certification, demonstrating expertise in wine knowledge.
  • Experience and Skills : Possess 1 year of experience in a wine service or fine dining setting, showcasing strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Beverage Culture : Demonstrate a strong interest in wines, spirits, and beverage culture, with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability : Exhibit excellent teamwork and adaptability, being a valuable contributor to the service team.
