Our client is a
global system provider of innovative drive solutions
and they are looking for an
Area Sales Manager to focus on new business development especially penetrating into the OEMs and expanding their market presence in Singapore.
The successful candidates are preferred to have Power Transmission background (gear motor, industrial gear unit, gearbox), which can extend to cover motor, brake, coupling, gearboxes, pneumatic or inverter.
Successful candidates MUST possess own vehicle for sales activities
JOB DIMENSION (SCOPE)
Proactive sales management and business/market development/sales hunter role
within the given sales territory. Plans and organises independently the related sales call schedules.
Develops and implements a sufficient and sustainable sales, marketing and growth strategy
within the given sales territory according to the company’s overall sales strategy, considering the special local requirements and customer need.
Identifies and develops new potential sales accounts and business opportunities within the given sales territory.
Proactive sales channel and distribution management
within the dedicated sales territory. Collects and analyses monthly sales activity reports from our local distribution partners. Develops a rolling forecast for his sales territory on a monthly base.
Gains customer acceptance
by explaining and demonstrating company’s innovative product portfolio. Supports to organise fairs and trade shows within the given sales territory.
Prepares basic quotations for customers within the given sales territory. The internal sales department will support preparing more sophisticated quotations.
Supports the finance team by following up accounts receivable for his/her designated customer base within the assigned sales territory and seeking on time payments.
Travels frequently to visit our local branches, representative offices, distribution partners, customers and end users. Solves any related open issues timely.
Proactively seeks after sales service inquiries . Is prepared to make a first failure/damage assessment of potential after sales and service cases at the side of customers or end user within his designated sales territory.
Prepares market and competitor investigation/analysis reports for the given sales territory. Identifies the total sales potential of existing and new target customers.
Prepares the yearly sales & order intake budget and planning
for his area of reasonability.
Negotiates technically and commercially sales/purchasing contracts with customers or supports our distribution partners to do so within the given sales territory.
Any other sales, after sales, service and business/market development related task assigned by the management of the company.
REQUIREMENTS
Diploma or bachelors degree issued by a College, Polytechnic or University, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration or any other equivalent education or extended working experience within the industry sector.
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the Power Transmission or any other related industry is required.
Overseas sales experience within the ASEAN and/or Asia Pacific region and the related intercultural competencies and communication skills are an advantage.
Good understanding of the local geared motor, frequency inverter and gearbox markets. Sound understanding about the local competition scene.
Basic application knowledge regarding the served local industry sectors, such as but not limited to food & beverage, material handling, intralogistics, automated warehouse systems, airport logistics, factory automation, cranes & hoists, basic metals, palm oil, rubber & sugar, oil & gas, chemical & petrochemical industries, mining, cement & minerals, marine and water & wastewater treatment is required.
A problem-solving attitude is essential to understand first and finally satisfy the individual customer needs and requirements by providing a suitable and practical power transmission solution.
Solid knowledge and understanding about the commercial terms & conditions, shipment terms, international/local legal requirements & compliance standards and contractual design is needed.
A strong understanding of market/business development, general market investigation, market analysis and segmentation techniques are needed to increase the local market transparency level within the given sales territory.
