Medical Technologist

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team in the Department of Pathology. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work with us and contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Job Description:

  • The Medical Technologist will perform routine histological tests, including reception of laboratory specimens, assigning charge codes, and rejecting unacceptable samples.
  • They will assist pathologists during trimming and evaluation of specimens, gross simple and uncomplicated specimens according to guidelines, and perform various technical functions such as processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, mounting, and labeling prepared slides and blocks.
  • Additional responsibilities include performing frozen cryo-sectioning, ensuring proper maintenance of equipment, preparing and maintaining reagents and stains, and complying with good laboratory practice and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Min Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Science/Biotechnology or equivalent qualification.
  • Meticulous, able to function effectively as a member of a team, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of multitasking and effective time management, and demonstrate proficiency in applicable computer systems and software.
