Job Title: Speech Pathology Specialist

Overview:

This role involves providing expert speech pathology services to patients, implementing treatment plans and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing disorders to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and adapt treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, and therapy assistants on effective communication and swallowing techniques.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for speech pathology services within the organization.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in speech pathology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology or a related field.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Allied Health Professions Council) is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a speech pathologist is required.
  • Experience working in a community hospital setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines.
