Single Molecule Biology Researcher

The School of Biological Sciences and the Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore invite applications for a tenure-track researcher position in Single Molecule Biology.

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Single Molecule Biology Researcher. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in single molecule biology, developing novel experimental methods and techniques, and contributing to the development of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments using single molecule techniques such as biomolecular engineering, biological sample preparation, data acquisition, calibration, and quantitative data analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets generated from single molecule experiments.
  • Develop and implement new methodologies and tools for studying complex biological systems.
  • Collaborate with other researchers within and outside the institution to advance the field of single molecule biology.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (Biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline) with postdoctoral or other professional experiences in closely related research fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in single molecule techniques, including biomolecular engineering, biological sample preparation, data acquisition, calibration, and quantitative data analysis.
  • Experience in collaborative research environments and strong communication skills.
  • A strong track record of research productivity and interdisciplinary collaborative research.

SBS and IDMxS encompass a broad range of research areas-including cell biology, physical biology, structural biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, bioelectronics, molecular spectroscopy, and artificial intelligence for biomolecular function-thereby fostering numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations both within SBS and IDMxS and across the University.

We have a state-of-the-art research infrastructure that supports advanced cell and molecular imaging, with systems such as Airscan2, STED-FLIM, SDC-TIRF/Laser-ablation/FRAP, lattice-SIM, and cryo-EM/ET. We also offer comprehensive molecular structural analysis capabilities, including mass photometry, SEC-MALS, NMR, and a full suite of proteomics equipment.
