Research Track Assistant Professor in Single Molecule Biology

The School of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in single molecule biology. We welcome applicants whose research intersects with biophysics, advanced imaging, and/or biochemistry.

About the Position
  • This is a full-time academic appointment at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
  • The successful candidate will join the vibrant School of Biological Sciences, which emphasizes fundamental and applied biology.

The appointee will contribute to our expanding focus on understanding biomolecular dynamics, assembly, organization, and reactions in biological processes, as well as quantitative single-molecule detection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop internationally recognized research in single molecule biology.
  • Teach both general and advanced undergraduate courses, as well as graduate courses in biology.
  • Mentor graduate students and supervise research projects.

We offer comprehensive molecular structural analysis capabilities, including mass photometry, SEC-MALS, NMR, and a full suite of proteomics equipment.

Requirements
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (Biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline).
  • Postdoctoral or other professional experiences in closely related research fields, preferably in single molecule biology.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge, training, and extensive hands-on experience in single molecule techniques.
  • Significant research experience in single molecule biology with a strong track record of research productivity and interdisciplinary collaborative research.
