Tender Cost Estimator
Job Description
As a Tender Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and evaluating tender documents to ensure accurate cost estimation for construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to study and analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications, bill of quantities (BOQ), and contract conditions.
You will perform quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and models using digital take-off tools such as Cubicost or CostX. This information will then be used to prepare preliminary cost estimates and detailed cost breakdowns.
In addition to cost estimation, you will source and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that all costing aligns with contractual requirements and project specifications.
Effective communication and coordination skills are essential in this role, as you will liaise with internal departments (engineering, procurement, planning) for technical inputs and project requirements.
Your responsibilities will also include preparing and compiling tender submission documents, including BOQ, pricing schedules, and supporting data.
Additionally, you will assist in preparing post-tender clarifications and cost negotiations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or related discipline
- Fresh Graduate welcome to apply
- Minimum 0-3 years of relevant experience in tendering, cost estimation, or pre-contract quantity surveying
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to work under tight deadlines
