Responsibilities:
Provide Masters with necessary guidance for cargo care, safety of navigation and environmental protection for the safe prosecution of their voyages.
Act in concert with and support the Technical and Fleet Personnel Departments in all operations matters, including handling accidents and casualties, nautical advice, and so on.
Monitor all the tankers under charge to ensure compliance with regulations as well as Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) matters.
Review the audit reports from internal auditors and escalate if there are any complicated or serious issues.
Maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) documents to ensure they are up to date.
Review the investigation reports, develop improvement plans, and conduct cost analysis based on the investigation reports.
Monitor the voyage progress and ensure issues are resolved through efficient communication.
Monitor the insurance of cautionary notices on operational and navigational matters, port information, etc.
Participate in contingency plans/emergency responses.
Handle charterers, Oil Majors, vetting, and approval matters.
Job Requirements:
Master’s F.G. Certificate of Competency.
Minimum 1 year command experience on board.
Chemical experience
is mandatory.
