About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented culinary team at Caracara Concept Pte. Ltd.'s Japanese restaurant in the Maxwell Central Region. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in leading and supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and customer service.
What you'll be doing
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and the preparation of exceptional Japanese cuisine.
Supervise and train the kitchen staff, ensuring consistent adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and food safety protocols.
Contribute to the development and refinement of the menu, incorporating innovative techniques and flavours.
Maintain a well-organised and efficient kitchen environment, optimising workflow and stock management.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a memorable dining experience for our customers.
Foster a positive and collaborative work culture within the kitchen team.
What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a reputable Japanese restaurant or fine-dining establishment.
Demonstrated expertise in Japanese cuisine, with a deep understanding of traditional techniques and flavour profiles.
Excellent culinary skills, including proficiency in knife handling, food preparation, and plating.
Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop a talented kitchen team.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Passionate about the culinary arts and driven to continuously learn and improve.
