Job Title: Senior Design Engineer and Technical Liaison
About the Role:
This is a challenging opportunity to join our organization as a senior design engineer. You will play a key role in developing innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough research to understand customer needs, organizational goals, and business strategies.

• Develop design specifications based on project requirements and company standards through simulations and modeling.

• Create detailed cycle time studies for individual modules to select appropriate machines or designs.

• Develop 3D models of machines and modules with optimized design for manufacturing, cost, quality, and safety.

• Initiate and carry out internal design reviews to share and explain completed modules with other departments.

• Collaborate with customers to review project schedules and revise designs accordingly.

• Revise documents based on both internal and external reviews.

• Create and update flow charts for modules or entire machines.

• Prepare part drawings and assembly drawings based on approved designs and obtain approval from department managers.

• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assigned modules based on design schedules.

• Prepare drawing release files and send out drawings for quotations.

• Send standard part lists for quotations based on BOMs.

• Receive quotations and create price comparison spreadsheets.

• Raise purchase requests and obtain department manager approval before sending them to the Purchase department for negotiation and ordering.

• Promptly address any design issues discovered during fabrication and/or assembly stages.

• Make necessary modifications, update designs, and obtain approval from department managers.

• Release revised drawings to suppliers and internal assembly teams.

• Support machine assembly teams as needed with setup and fine-tuning of machines.

• Meet quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices, and upholding company policies, internal, customer standards for machine building and safety.

• Develop, train, and educate junior engineers, guide technical direction, and act as a technical liaison between customers.
Requirements:

• Strong understanding of design principles, simulations, and modeling software.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant software.

• Familiarity with engineering standards and regulations.

• Time management and organizational skills.
