Our expertise in managing credit and counterparty risk provides a vital competitive advantage while enabling clients to trade with confidence.About The RoleWe are expanding our team and have an exciting opportunity in our Singapore office, for a Dry Cargo Ship Broker with proven experience in any vessel size. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a successful Broking background in Dry Cargo ship broking. You will be personable, tenacious and a natural networker, having a proactive approach to generating leads and securing new business.Key responsibilities:Promote FIS as a company; providing market intelligence and analysis to clients Maintain and enhance existing client relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities Drive revenue and develop and enhance client base Understand the team’s business strategy and identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients Undertake market analysis, providing market insight and trade ideas to clients Responsible for daily price discovery, dissemination and matching Create and write daily market reports as required Identify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationships Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require Risk related responsibilitiesSupport a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policies Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities TrainingSeek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are met Complete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlines Maintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD) RequirementsKey competencies / skillsDemonstrate successful track record of Dry Cargo shipbroking Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible Good understanding of Dry Cargo markets – essential Experience in Handymax / Supramax or Panamax vessels - essential Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues combined with excellent negotiation skills Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment Naturally team oriented; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills Travel and attending client social events BenefitsOur rapidly growing business offers a dynamic environment for talented, entrepreneurial professionals to achieve results and grow their careers.Competitive salary and discretionary bonus Learning & Development / CPD opportunities Private healthcare 25 days holiday FIS is an equal opportunity employer.
