Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese Cuisine Chef to prepare authentic and high-quality Chinese dishes. The successful candidate will have strong technical cooking skills, knowledge of regional Chinese flavors, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining excellent food standards. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare and cook a wide range of Chinese dishes (Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Northern, etc.) according to recipes and restaurant standards. Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared with proper taste, presentation, and portion size. Handle wok cooking, soup preparation, dim sum, sauces, and stir-fried dishes with precision. Maintain high quality and speed during service periods. Kitchen Operations Organize and set up the workstation before and after service. Ensure ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated (FIFO system). Assist in menu planning, daily specials, and seasonal dishes when required. Monitor and minimize food waste. Hygiene & Safety Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen at all times. Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations. Ensure all kitchen tools and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. Teamwork & Communication Work closely with the Head Chef and team to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Support junior kitchen staff and share knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques. Communicate effectively with service staff to ensure timely food delivery. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience as a Chinese cuisine cook or chef in a professional kitchen. Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Team player with good communication and time management skills. Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations. Culinary diploma or equivalent training preferred. Preferred Skills Specialization in one or more regional cuisines (Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Teochew, etc.). Ability to adapt authentic dishes to modern or fusion styles if required. Basic Mandarin or Cantonese communication skills (advantageous).
