About Industry Development at SFC
The Industry Development department at the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) plays a pivotal role in supporting the growth and competitiveness of Singapore's fashion industry. Through educational programmes and industry forums, the department facilitates the development and networking of businesses and professionals across the regional fashion value chain.
This development encompasses both business growth and the enhancement of skills and competencies to maintain a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving global market. Additionally, it conducts outreach initiatives with educational institutions to cultivate a strong pipeline of emerging talent, ensuring the continued evolution of the industry. Collaborating closely with other departments within SFC, the Industry Development Department contributes to the shared vision of positioning Singapore as a leading hub for responsible fashion in Asia.
About this Role:
This role is on a 1-year contract basis with potential to convert to a permanent role.
You will work closely with a core team and play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing industry development programs, training initiatives, and executing programs including industry forums, seminars, courses, and learning journeys. The role involves a combination of program planning, curriculum development, stakeholder engagement, research, coordination, communication, marketing, organizational and administrative tasks, and financial oversight to ensure the successful execution of training and industry-related initiatives. It is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven professional with business acumen who is interested in the fashion industry.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Program Development & Implementation:
Assist in the creation and execution of fashion industry development frameworks, policies, and training initiatives aligned with organizational objectives and ensure that training programs meet industry needs and are continuously updated to remain relevant. Oversee program implementation, tracking progress and making necessary improvements based on industry trends and feedback.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, educational institutions, industry experts, and corporate partners to enhance program reach and impact. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of industry development and training initiatives.
Content Curation, Design & Development:
Support and sometimes lead the creation and refinement of content such as program curation that aligns with evolving industry requirements. Work with subject matter experts to develop and update this content, in its various formats.
Project & Event Management:
Manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Plan, organize, and participate in industry events, career fairs, conferences, and seminars to build brand awareness and promote training programs.
Sales & Marketing Acumen:
Create and execute revenue generation strategy for programs and courses. Develop outreach strategies to increase awareness and participation in programs. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional content and lead enrollment efforts.
Technology & Digital Learning Management:
Work closely with IT teams to manage online learning platforms and ensure smooth program administration. Integrate technology-driven solutions to enhance learning experiences and operational efficiency.
Budget & Financial Oversight:
Assist with funding management, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and program execution timelines. Track expenditures and optimize budget allocations for maximum impact.
Data Analysis & Research:
Collect, analyze, and interpret industry data to assess program effectiveness. Provide data-driven insights to enhance training initiatives and industry development programs.
Support strategic planning efforts to drive program growth, impact, and long-term sustainability. Identify opportunities for new initiatives and partnerships that contribute to industry advancement.
Requirements:
A degree in business management, Education, Training & Development with a proven track record of interest in the fashion industry. Individuals with a degree in other fields who have relevant experience will also be considered.
At least 2 -5 years of relevant work experience in the Fashion or retail industry or strong interest in fashion and industry development.
Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Strong business acumen for outreach and building program attendance to meet revenue goals.
Team player with initiative, meticulousness, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Visual and design skills a bonus.
Experience in working with government agencies, training providers, or industry associations is a plus.
Proficiency in data analysis, financial management, and digital learning tools.
