This role involves preparing meals, ensuring quality and presentation standards, and supporting management in staffing and operations as a member of the Food & Beverage & Culinary team at W Singapore - Sentosa Cove.
Responsibilities
Prepare special meals or substitute items and cook according to recipes, quality standards, and food preparation checklists.
Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; pull food from freezer to thaw in the refrigerator; prepare cold foods; ensure proper portions, arrangement, and garnish.
Maintain food logs; monitor quality and quantity of food prepared; communicate needs during busy periods; inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and items that are out of stock; ensure the quality of food items; follow safety and sanitary policies and procedures.
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards; adhere to presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
Maintain uniform and professional appearance; protect company assets; uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; communicate clearly and professionally; develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, and lift up to 25 pounds; perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors.
Qualifications
Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
License or Certification: None required.
