Senior Manager/ Manager

Overview
The Research team undertakes and supports research that informs policy and programme formulation, and effective engagement of youth. We spearhead national-level youth research efforts alongside sense-making and consultancy for the organisation and stakeholders. We are looking for a Senior Manager/ Manager to join the team to manage national-level research studies to understand the state of youth in Singapore. This role will require you to engage with both internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise research to keep abreast of the youth pulse. You will drive deep-dive analyses and reporting on youth issues and interests, in collaboration with stakeholders across whole-of-government and partners in the academic sector. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the monitoring and sensemaking of trends in the youth landscape within NYC and identify opportunities to amplify youth insights to relevant stakeholders.
What you will be working on
In undertaking this role, you will have the opportunity to take comprehensive ownership of a large-scale research study and related investigations, independently overseeing the entire research cycle from conception to dissemination and manage collaborations riding on the study. This will involve conducting literature reviews and environmental scans, reviewing research proposals and papers, designing research methodology and questionnaires, managing fieldwork, and conducting data analysis and visualizations. Drawing on your analytical expertise and critical thinking skills, you will be required to sense-make data, identify issues and translate insights to inform programme practices, policy formulations, and youth engagement. Tapping on your writing skills, you will also be required to prepare data and insights for tailored communication to key stakeholders and public through various platforms. You will also engage with diverse stakeholders across NYC, the youth sector and whole-of-Government to understand their research needs to support policy and programme interest areas, provide consultancy on research best practices (e.g., suitable data analysis methods), and facilitate accurate interpretation of youth trends. We are looking for a candidate that has a strong understanding of research and analytical methods, particularly in quantitative research, and excellent project management and communication skills.
What we are looking for
Background in psychology, sociology and economics would be advantageous.
(For Senior Manager) Minimum 5 years’ experience in conducting research and data analysis required, with sound knowledge of research methods and analysis. (Suitable candidates may be appointed at Manager level if they do not meet the minimum relevant experience requirement.)
Highly proficient in quantitative data management and processing.
Proficiency with SPSS, Microsoft Excel and other research/data visualization software (e.g. Tableau) would be advantageous.
Excellent project management, critical thinking, data storytelling, writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Possess a macro perspective of issues, interest in youth topics, as well as eye for details.
Effective and resourceful team player.
Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment.
