JR **Qualifications*** Degree in civil engineering or related field to civil engineering.* 15 years of experience in construction supervision of transport infrastructure projects such as bridges.* Work experience in the Pacific or other similar environments is required.* Familiarity with FIDIC Conditions of Contract and supervision of construction works.**Input Duration*** With a minimum of 38 man-months input**Responsibilities*** Take overall responsibility for delivering the services in ensuring timely and effective delivery of the project, and the construction contract.* Be responsible for the overall management of the consultant team in delivering their responsibilities under the contract* Monitor project progress and report progress and issues encountered, and proposals for their resolution to FRA and ADB/WB.* Take responsibility for preparation of progress reports, review and finalization of sector reports and preparation of the project completion report to FRA and ADB/WB.* Engage with other third parties, regarding any aspects of the work on site that require their input.* Review and approve all Temporary Traffic Management Plans to ensure the safety of the general public and that delays are minimized where possible* Assist in the preparation of progress reports with contributions on contract supervision and construction progress matters.* Evaluate requests for contract variations as a result of unforeseen site conditions or changes in project scope and facilitate resolution in accordance with contract provisions.* Review certifications for payments to ensure consistency and compliance with quality requirements of the detailed design.* Identify and propose solutions to potential problems related to the detailed engineering design.* The Contract Engineer is permanently based in Suva to be continuously aware of the progress of the work and any contractual issues arising.At Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
