Job Title: Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing light vehicles, snowmobiles and equipment.


Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and service light vehicles, snowmobiles and equipment according to schedule
  • Use diagnostic procedures and test equipment to identify and correct equipment faults
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records on inspections completed and work performed
  • Operate shop equipment including welders, compressors, presses and wheel alignment equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs and service
  • Operate recovery vehicle and perform recovery functions, sometimes outdoors in extreme environmental conditions
  • Perform quality work in a timely manner and accurately record that work
  • Comply with all Environmental Safety and Health and Quality Assurance requirements and goals

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technician Level I: A minimum of two years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Technician Level II: A minimum of four years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair required; or three years' experience with maintenance and repair in addition to one summer or winter Antarctic deployment working as a light vehicle technician I
  • Technician Level III: A minimum of seven years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass an oral examination consisting of 10+ questions pertaining to mechanical systems, electrical and computer systems, as well as other facets of equipment repair (only required for Level 3)

  • Ability to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position
