Family Law Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of family law procedures and be able to assist with the preparation, formatting, and filing of family law documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Preparation: Assist with the preparation, formatting, and filing of family law documents, including Originating Summonses, Affidavits, Interim Applications, and Draft Orders
  • e-Litigation Filing: Manage e-litigation filing and submissions through the eLitigation system
  • Court Coordination: Coordinate court dates, client appointments, and mediation sessions
  • File Management: Maintain and organise client files and legal documentation (both digital and physical)
  • Communication: Handle correspondence with clients, court staff, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Bundles: Prepare bundles of documents for hearings and submissions (e.g., Bundle of Documents, Bundle of Authorities)
  • Case Monitoring: Monitor case timelines, deadlines, and ensure compliance with court directions
  • Research: Perform legal research under supervision, where needed
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support such as answering calls, billing support, and file management
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Diploma in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or relevant certification
  • Experience: At least 1–3 years of experience working in a Singapore law firm, preferably in Family Law
  • System Familiarity: Proficient in the eLitigation system and familiar with Singapore Family Justice Courts procedures
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters concurrently
  • Linguistic Skills: Good command of English (spoken and written); ability to draft clear and professional correspondence
  • Professionalism: High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client confidentiality
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with law practice management software
  • Expertise: Experience preparing divorce applications, maintenance and custody applications, PPOs, and other related family matters
  • Rules Knowledge: Familiarity with the Family Justice Rules
  • Work Environment: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
