Key Responsibilities
- Arrange collection and deliveries of sea freight for import/export arrangements
- Take operational, routing, and customer service responsibility for all shipments handled
- Use preferred lists of truckers and vendors to identify customer solutions based on rates and service
- Coordinate between shippers, consignees, overseas offices, and sea carriers
- Complete all necessary import/export documentation in order to remain compliant with regulations
- Enter import/export shipment information into the system
- Receive, review, and process documents, follow up with origin offices for clarifications and resolutions on paperwork, and follow all processes to ensure smooth completion
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors
- Provide classification recommendations to customers with approval
- Coordinate and prepare all necessary import/export documentation
- Respond to customer inquiries concerning import/export milestones, shipment status, and charges
- Remain within company guidelines to customer inquiries regarding shipments
- Escalate uncommon, complex customer issues to the next level manager for resolution when necessary
- Process billing, invoicing, and cost verification for shipments
