Product Development Manager Job Description

As a Product Development Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the end-to-end product development process for life and health products.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct market research on new product developments and prepare analysis to provide insights on market trends and differentiators.
  2. Monitor market developments and identify trends, competitive comparisons, and product propositions to drive new product development and related initiatives.
  3. Manage and conduct focus groups with distribution/customers to test out new product ideas or gather feedback on existing products.
  4. Responsible for drafting and updating product specifications and preparing the product presentation for evaluation and approval.
  5. Collaborate with key stakeholders from the product implementation workgroup (e.g. distribution, operations, actuarial and product marketing) to channel inputs into the product proposition, manage deliverables and resolve implementation issues.
  6. Responsible for drafting of new product launch training slides, drafting/updating of product related materials (such as product summaries and product factsheets) as well as reviewing of product/fund materials, policy contracts and FAQs.
  7. Responsible for communication and drafting of product launch announcements.
  8. Post product launch monitoring is also your responsibility.
  9. Manage and coordinate regulatory developments and requirements related to product development.
  10. Supports the Product Lead in product review/performance and marketing initiatives such as campaigns and reviewing of materials, providing inputs, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in any field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the insurance industry with expertise in life and health product development/pricing, exposure to proposition development and project implementation.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore health products and regulations, as well as the latest developments.
  • Individuals with strong insurance development/business experience are also considered.
  • Good knowledge of life and health products.
  • Insurance qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, detailed, results-driven individual comfortable working with tight timelines.
  • Business-oriented individual with good knowledge of market trends.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
