The Assistant Finance Manager is a key business partner responsible for all aspects of financial management, performance monitoring, accounting, budgeting, and corporate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sound financial guidance on working capital, financing, or the organisation's financial position.
  • Implement best practices to identify and manage financial risks and achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Manage accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial statements and reports are prepared for stakeholders.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain an effective system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of financial statements, activity reports, and forecasts for management.
  • Monitor emerging trends in accounting standards and regulations.

Taxation:

  • Oversee taxation-related functions within the organisation.
  • Supervise taxable income and income tax liabilities calculation.
  • Assess chargeable gains and losses, as well as capital gain tax liabilities.

Business Partnership:

  • Support the organisation as a trusted business partner.
  • Advise management on risk exposure and provide strategic input for key financial decisions.
  • Analyse market trends and contribute to shaping the organisation's financial strategy.

Strategic Planning:

  • Identify and understand the organisation's financing needs.
  • Calculate both financial and non-financial performance measurements for reporting purposes.
  • Oversee budget preparation and implementation.

Management Accounting:

  • Maintain banking relationships for day-to-day transactions and investments.
  • Prepare for the use of integrated reporting.

Internal Audit:

  • Plan and coordinate the annual financial audit process.
  • Respond to internal and external auditors on audit data and findings.
  • Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.

Technology Integration:

  • Use management information systems strategically for effective business management.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the organisation's financial system and determine areas for improvement.
  • Ensure proper setup of accounting rules in the financial system.

Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in accountancy or equivalent certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, etc.).
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably with hospitality/F&B industry exposure and audit background.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of finance/accounting policies and procedures, GST, Singapore tax, audit, and accounting laws.
• Excellent organisational, planning skills, high responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Influential finance leader with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with ability to function effectively in dynamic environment.
• Proficient in MS Office. Experience with Sun accounting software advantageous.
• May require travel.
