Product Introduction Specialist

This is a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless launch of new products into manufacturing. The Product Introduction Specialist bridges the gap between design and production, guaranteeing efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality product introductions.

  • The specialist collaborates cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Procurement, and Operations teams to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop work instructions (WI, OMS), technical write-ups for production
  2. Engage with the sales team and customers to highlight issues with prints or manufacturing through the supplier problem sheet (SPS)
  3. Collaborate with suppliers and contractors on technical purchases requiring engineering review to meet requirements
  4. Coordinate and follow-up on engineering activities for production and new product implementation
  5. Provide engineering support, advice, and direction to production sections on manufacturing and testing requirements
  6. Work with production to review, analyze, and resolve quality issues
  7. Support production on productivity improvement, cost reduction, and other continuous improvement projects from time to time
  8. Support qualification activities including FAI
  9. Design and develop toolings to improve efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing the parts
  10. Review processes to analyze, control, and minimize deviations using statistical tools
  11. Follow-up on new processes to ensure they are tested and stable before and during production
  12. Review process timings for new products and existing production operations to ensure they are updated and current
  13. Initiate cost or productivity improvements projects

Requirements:

  1. NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  2. Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  3. Positive attitude and ability to communicate well with all levels
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural work environment
  5. Meticulous and detailed in job assignments
  6. Relevant manufacturing experience in a production environment
  7. Candidates with extensive experience will be considered for a senior position
  8. Project management skills will be advantageous
