Job Title: Materials Acquisition Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Materials Acquisition Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality raw materials and services to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and delivery terms;
  • Source office and manufacturing-related raw materials and services, obtaining quotations and recommending suitable alternatives;
  • Prepare and release purchase orders to suppliers/vendors promptly;
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure incoming materials meet required specifications;
  • Work closely with the Planning team to prevent urgent shortages, ramp-ups, and costly disruptions;
  • Monitor and follow up on acknowledgements and delivery schedules;
  • Coordinate with Warehouse and Production Departments for smooth material flow;
  • Maintain and update prices in the system;
  • Manage suppliers' performance to ensure uninterrupted production supply;
  • Optimize purchasing volume to avoid additional premium/handling costs;
  • Monitor slow-moving stock to prevent obsolescence and maintain optimal inventory levels based on demand;
  • Implement and track cost-saving initiatives with suppliers/vendors;
  • Negotiate and establish reliable and cost-effective freight arrangements;
Requirements:
  • Diploma or higher (Certificate in Purchasing/Negotiation preferred);
  • Min. 5 years' purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP/SAP; proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Strong negotiation, purchasing, and analytical skills;
  • Attributes: initiative, honesty, meticulous, positive, and a team player;
