Procurement Specialist

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials and auxiliary supplies required for Cut & Bend, Stirrups, Prefabricated Cages, Bore Pile Cages, and Shear Line operations.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders; follow up on delivery schedules to ensure production continuity.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records for audits and compliance purposes.

  • Supplier Coordination:
  • Liaise with local and international suppliers to confirm specifications, lead times, and logistics.
  • Assist in supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor market pricing trends and report to the Procurement Manager.

  • Cost and Risk Support:
  • Support cost analysis and participate in negotiations led by the Procurement Manager.
  • Identify potential risks to supply continuity, quality, or cost, and escalate as needed.

  • Supply Chain and Logistics Support:
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages to prevent production disruptions.
  • Verify delivery documentation and ensure alignment with procurement and finance records.

  • Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure all procured materials meet company quality standards for structural steel products.
  • Adhere to safety standards in supplier interaction, storage, and material handling.
  • Support audits with complete and accurate documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of procurement experience, preferably in steel, construction, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ERP procurement modules (Odoo, SAP, or Oracle preferred).

  • Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with steel products and production processes.
  • Understanding of ISO-compliant procurement processes and safety standards.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Personal Attributes:
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Team player with cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin; Malay proficiency is an advantage.
