Job Title: Healthcare Instrument Specialist

Job Summary:

To ensure the optimal functionality and cleanliness of dental instruments, we require a skilled Healthcare Instrument Specialist to maintain patient care standards.

The ideal candidate will be stationed in our Central Sterile Supplies Department (CSSD) where they will be responsible for deploying to various stations, decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, wrapping, and sterilizing dental instruments. Key duties include cleaning and disinfecting dental instruments, sorting, assembling, protecting, packing, wrapping, and labelling instrument sets according to checklists.

Duties will also involve operating washer-disinfector/steam sterilizers, performing validation and sterility tests, documenting and verifying sterilization loads, storing, and issuing sterile instruments while ensuring patient safety and care throughout duty hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping, and sterilization of dental instruments
  • Cleaning and disinfection of dental instruments
  • Sorting, assembling, protecting, packing, wrapping, and labelling of dental instrument sets
  • Operating washer-disinfector/steam sterilizers
  • Performing validation and sterility tests
  • Documenting and verifying sterilization loads
  • Storing and issuing sterile instruments
  • Ensuring patient safety and care throughout duty hours
Requirements:

We are seeking a motivated individual with a minimum Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) or equivalent qualification. Prior experience in CSSD is advantageous, but not necessary as training will be provided. The successful candidate should be comfortable handling heavy loads/items up to 7-10 kg and willing to work staggered shift duties. Basic English literacy and good communication skills are essential.
