Job Overview:
The role of a conservation assistant involves performing conservation assessment, documentation, and minor treatments on artworks and artefacts in accordance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Performing conservation assessment and documentation, including photography, to ensure the preservation and protection of artworks and artefacts.
- Carrying out preventive conservation work, such as mounting and re-housing for storage or exhibition purposes, to maintain the integrity of artworks and artefacts.
- Providing administrative support, including printing, scanning, and uploading of conservation documents, to facilitate efficient workflow and communication.
- Undertaking other duties and projects as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum Diploma qualification in a relevant field.
- Background knowledge in art, digital media, or conservation of paper-based materials, preferred but not essential.
- Excellent manual dexterity and sensitivity when handling fragile materials.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and manage time effectively within a given timeline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Working Hours and Contract:
Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 5.30pm, with a contract duration of six months.
Location:
Jurong Port Road.
Essential Skills:
Include front office, multitasking, up-selling, digital media management, Microsoft Excel proficiency, secondary education, quality assurance, administrative work, investigation, conservation issues, photography, and opera expertise.
