Job Description

The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic planning expert, responsible for driving the University's strategic initiatives and performance management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the University's strategic planning framework, ensuring alignment between departmental plans and institutional objectives.
  • Oversee the operationalisation of systems to monitor and evaluate strategic performance, including regular updates, performance reviews, and analysis.
  • Lead the strategic planning business partner team, advising initiative owners on potential challenges, tracking progress, and offering actionable recommendations.
  • Co-lead strategic reporting, compiling and presenting reports on strategic initiatives, plan reviews, and other critical areas.

This role requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. The successful candidate will be able to engage with colleagues of all seniority levels to achieve objectives and drive successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field; postgraduate degree would be an advantage.
  • At least 12 to 15 years of work experience within at least 10 years in strategic planning, preferably in higher education and/or consulting.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and leading projects, with a background in supporting the development of education and research policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and evaluate issues and data.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and engage with colleagues at all seniority levels.
