**What the role is**
- The Assistant Director (Strategic Planning & Communications) will support VITAL Senior Management in driving the organisation's progress and growth by identifying emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities, formulating strategies to achieve VITAL's goals, and strategically communicate key messages to stakeholders.

**What you will be working on**
- Conduct environment scanning and futures exercises to identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Review, formulate and implement innovative strategies to enable VITAL to thrive amidst a constantly evolving operating environment.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to effectively communicate key messages to stakeholders.
- Drive the corporate planning process to implement organisational strategies.
- Promote transformation through awards and recognition schemes.

**What we are looking for**
- Experience in strategic planning and communications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate data and information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong relationship management and organisational planning skills.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lead a team in an environment characterised by ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Adept at communicating to all levels of stakeholders in the oral and written mediums.
