Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist to join our team. This role will involve providing second-line support for trading applications used by traders, risk managers, and back-office teams.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting applications within a commodity trading environment, specifically with a focus on ETRM systems.

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and traders to ensure the smooth functioning of critical applications used on the trade floor.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide second-line support for trading applications used by traders, risk managers, and back-office teams, including troubleshooting issues, resolving incidents, and minimizing downtime for business-critical systems.
  2. Support and maintain ETRM systems, such as Openlink, Allegro, or others, to ensure functionality, integrity, and performance, and troubleshoot issues related to trade capture, PnL calculation, and market data integration.
  3. Act as the primary point of contact for all application-related issues on the trading floor, working with traders to resolve application problems in real-time.
  4. Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical issues related to trading platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to trading activities.
  5. Track and prioritize incidents using ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with business stakeholders.
  6. Monitor key systems to ensure uptime, performance, and availability, and proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
  7. Assist with deployment of software patches, updates, and system configurations in coordination with development teams to enhance system functionality.
  8. Maintain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system configurations, and provide regular updates on system health and performance to senior management.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with Commodity Trading: Strong understanding of the commodity trade floor environment, including trading, risk management, and operations processes, and familiarity with trading instruments such as energy, oil, gas, and metals.
  • ETRM Knowledge: Experience with at least one major ETRM platform (e.g., Openlink, Allegro, Endur, Triple Point), and deep understanding of trade lifecycle, PnL, and risk management within these systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting, configuration, and supporting applications in a production environment, and experience with databases (e.g., SQL) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly.
