Global Trade Finance Expert Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Trade Finance Specialist. This exciting opportunity allows you to gain exposure to a diverse range of businesses within a fast-growing global commodity merchant trading company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in structuring and managing trade finance transactions, involving different financing exposures such as letters of credit, guarantees, invoice financing, LC discounting/confirmation, receivables discounting (supply chain finance), inventory financing, working capital facilities, and trade finance optimization.
  • Support LC application and document review, and transaction execution with banking partners.
  • Monitor cash flows, payment schedules, and financing requirements for active trades.
  • Assist in on-boarding new banks to support business growth plans of traders.
  • Participate in the training of junior team members when necessary.
  • Collaborate with traders, operations, settlement, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of deals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis on trade finance trends, regulations, and banking products.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in preparing reports for internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Finance or Economic discipline.
  • 3-5 years in trade finance at a commodity trading firm, with a preference for prior metals-related experience.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required to facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Ability to establish a good communication network to keep informed about various stages of trade flow during the life cycle of a trade with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and strong sense of responsibility, able to work independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and grow career in Trade Finance.
