Job Title: Senior Commodity Finance Specialist

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Commodity Finance Specialist. As a key member of our middle office, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring transactional collaterals for commodity finance/structured finance transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and monitor transactional collaterals for commodity finance/structured finance transactions.
  • Perform mark-to-market valuations, monitor cash collateral requirements, and follow up on top-ups for transactions that are under-collateralised.
  • Monitor loan-to-value ratios to ensure financing within stipulated thresholds and conduct margin calls whenever necessary.
  • Update transactional details into ST Connect for exposure monitoring and facility limits management.
  • Alert relationship managers and credit risk managers of potential risks that may endanger underlying assets or identify repayment sources in a timely manner.
  • Conduct price checks for the team.
  • Act as secondary backup for account officers on assigned portfolio coverage duties.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the head of structured trade middle office.
  • Participate in UAT for system enhancements and implementation.
  • Perform connectivity tests as required for new system rollouts or BCP.
  • Assist with records archiving and other administrative duties assigned by the head of structured trade middle office.

Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in banking and finance or a relevant field is preferred.
  • 5-12 years of experience in commodity trade finance middle office, front office, or commodity trading houses.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to understand transactional risks are essential.
  • Knowledge of warehouse financing, storage tank financing, borrowing-based financing, and revolving credit finance is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of trade-based rules such as UCP600, ISBP745, URC525, and Incoterms 2021 is required.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., is necessary.
