Job Title: Commodity Trade Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Commodity Trade Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will have expertise in commodity trade finance, including knowledge of UCP600, ISBP745, and Incoterms 2021.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and monitoring transactions, ensuring compliance with credit and collateral thresholds. They will also be required to report on loan-to-value ratios and perform margin calls as necessary.

The Commodity Trade Finance Manager will work closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate data entry into ST Connect and provide regular updates on exposure and limit tracking. Additionally, they will participate in user acceptance testing and business continuity planning procedures.

In this challenging and rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of financial instruments, including warehouse financing, storage tank financing, borrowing base, and revolving credit. You will also develop your skills in risk awareness, price validation, and market checks.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Administering and monitoring collateral for commodity/structured finance transactions
  • Performing mark-to-market valuations and managing under-collateralisation
  • Maintaining and updating transaction data in ST Connect for exposure and limit tracking
  • Escalating potential asset risks or repayment concerns to relationship and credit risk managers

Requirements:
  • 5-12 years of experience in commodity trade finance (middle office or front office) and commodity trading houses
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (mandatory for communicating with Chinese-speaking clients)
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset
  • Knowledge of UCP600, ISBP745, and Incoterms 2021
  • Commodity finance structures such as warehouse financing, storage tank financing, borrowing base, and revolving credit
