The role of Assistant Director/Senior Manager is a strategic leadership position that oversees the planning, development and execution of fundraising, donor engagement, communications and community partnerships efforts.
This critical role builds sustained public support advancing our mission and ensuring long-term resource mobilisation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide vision leadership and direction to teams across fundraising, communications, partnerships and volunteer engagement.
- Translate organisational strategies into actionable departmental plans aligned with our long-term goals.
- Partner with senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives reporting and organisational positioning.
- Maintain oversight of risk registers and contribute to business continuity planning.
- Develop and implement multi-channel fundraising strategies to achieve annual and long-term funding targets.
- Identify and cultivate new funding streams including major donors, foundations, legacy gifts and recurring donors.
- Lead the development of structured volunteer programmes, competency frameworks and engagement strategies to grow and sustain a vibrant volunteer base.
- Champion a culture of service and shared ownership among volunteers and our wider community.
- Ensure all fundraising activities comply with regulatory requirements and align with our donor recognition and ethical fundraising practices.
- Lead the development of an integrated communications strategy to strengthen our brand, public awareness and engagement.
- Oversee content creation and management across digital, social media, print publications and other communication platforms.
- Enhance our digital presence and storytelling through data-driven campaigns, media partnerships and advocacy initiatives.
- Provide strategic oversight of external communication materials including media statements, marketing collateral, social media content and publications ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Strengthen relationships with corporates, community groups, institutions and individuals to foster broad-based support for our mission.
- Oversee the full partnership engagement lifecycle including acquisition, relationship management, stewardship and recognition across various partnership tiers.
- Develop partnership-related communications such as grant proposals, impact reports and partnerships materials ensuring alignment with funder expectations and our strategic goals.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in fundraising, communications or stakeholder engagement with 5+ years in a managerial capacity.
- Prior experience in the non-profit sector is preferred.
Key Skills Competencies:
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities.
- Proven track record in fundraising, marketing communications and volunteer engagement.
- Digital fluency and experience managing multi-platform campaigns.
- Meticulous, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
