About Us

We are seeking a Research Fellow to join our team at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. This role is part of the Synthetic Biology Translational Research Programme (TRP), which aims to repurpose synthetic biology for positive clinical impact.

Job Description:

The Research Fellow will be responsible for designing, constructing, and screening protein libraries to enhance functional properties. This includes activity, specificity, and stability. The successful candidate will also develop and optimize quantitative biochemical assays for detection and characterization of target biomarkers.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and construct protein libraries
  • Screen protein libraries for enhanced functional properties
  • Develop and optimize biochemical assays
  • Implement high-throughput protein engineering workflows
  • Mentor research assistants and students
Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a PhD in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field. Proven expertise in recombinant protein expression, purification, and biochemical characterization is essential. Experience with rational or other protein design strategies is also highly desirable.
