Job Description:

The Junior Sous Chef is a key member of our culinary team, playing a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This role embodies the Sofitel brand values: Passion for Excellence, Essence of Pleasure, and Spirit of Openness.

As a Senior Pastry Team Member, you will assist the Sous Chef in managing the pastry kitchen on a daily basis, providing leadership, training, and supervision on all food production, and overseeing the quality and timely distribution of food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sous Chef in planning, coordinating, and supervising menu implementation
  • Develop and propose new services and products for our guests, subject to approval
  • Collaborate with the Sous Chef to prepare and control market lists daily and weekly
  • Familiar with local requirements and sanitation regulations
  • Train and supervise junior team members on food safety, handling, and preparation
  • Ensure that all dishes meet the required standards of quality, presentation, and taste

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Tourism Management is essential. Proven experience in a similar capacity with 1+ years of track record is mandatory.

Strong communication skills are crucial to excel within a luxury brand, as well as passion for service, excellent organizational skills, and results orientation.

Candidates should have proficient knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be familiar with inventory management, food costing, and budgeting principles.

Teamwork, adaptability, and continuous learning attitude are also highly valued traits in this dynamic environment.
