Sybase & PostgreSQL Technical Specialist

The Database Operations team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our global infrastructure. This includes day-to-day management, administration, and support of Sybase & PostgreSQL technologies across Europe (mainly France) and Asia remotely from Singapore.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a technical expert to join our Database team as a Sybase & PostgreSQL Specialist. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing, administering, and supporting Sybase & PostgreSQL database technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the final escalation point for technical issues.
- Own Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
- Assign technical tasks and manage delegation.
- Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in recruitment efforts.
Scope of Duties:
- Lead incident management, fault investigation, resolution escalations, and request management.
- Final technical approver for changes to Sybase and PostgreSQL technology.
- Involved in projects like End of Life, New Builds, migrations, and technical upgrades.
- Participate in global Infrastructure events.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with norms, standards, processes, and procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for driving root cause analysis for high-severity issues.
- Foster automation and optimize team efficiency.
- Maintain relevant knowledge to undertake the role.
