Senior Financial Strategist

We are seeking an accomplished financial leader to drive business growth and success through strategic planning, analysis, and reporting.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a finance team, driving business growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial insights to management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing annual budgets and rolling forecasts for retail stores and online channels.
  • Analyzing store performance, sales trends, and gross margins to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing regular financial updates to senior management on profitability, cost control, and revenue growth.

This role requires a strong background in accounting, finance, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in driving business growth and improving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting

  • Overseeing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Ensuring timely preparation of P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Managing fixed assets accounting, inventory valuation, and shrinkage analysis.

Finance Operations

  • Monitoring and reconciling point-of-sale (POS) sales data and ensuring proper revenue recognition.
  • Working closely with merchandising and supply chain to manage stock levels, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
  • Tracking promotional campaign results and evaluating return on investment (ROI).

Cash & Credit Control

  • Managing store cash handling processes and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Overseeing banking relationships and ensuring optimal cash flow management.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Maintaining strong internal controls over inventory, sales, and expense claims.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, retail licensing, and statutory reporting requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Leading and developing the finance team, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and business partnering capability.
  • Partnering with retail operations teams to support store openings, closures, and expansion plans.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Retail Industry.
