Research Catalysts and Materials Scientist

We seek a highly motivated Research Catalysts and Materials Scientist to synthesize nanostructured catalysts and support materials for hydrogen evolution and oxygen evolution reactions.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or materials science and experience in fabrication of fuel cells and electrolyzers.

Strong publication records in electrochemistry are highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, fabricate, and characterize transition metal-bimetallic or alloyed electrocatalysts for alkaline and acidic hydrogen production.
  • Develop and test freestanding ionomer membranes and catalyst-coated substrates for electrolytic hydrogen generation.
  • Assemble and evaluate single-cell electrolyzer and fuel cell prototypes, including membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) optimization.

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or materials science.
  • Experience in fabrication of fuel cells and electrolyzers.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrochemistry, electrochemical techniques, and polymer membranes.
