Database Administrator

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team.

As a DBA, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases in mission-critical environments. Your primary goal will be to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of Oracle database systems that support enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Infrastructure Management:
    1. ">
    2. Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software (single instance and RAC environments).
    3. Plan and execute patch management, including security and version upgrades.
    4. Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, RMAN).
    5. Manage Oracle ASM, storage configurations, and interaction with SAN/NAS teams.
  • Operational Support & Maintenance:
    1. ">
    2. Monitor database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and infrastructure tools (e.g., Nagios, Dynatrace).
    3. Perform proactive capacity planning and tuning of database servers (memory, CPU, I/O).
    4. Manage tablespaces, redo logs, undo segments, indexes, partitions, and backups.
  • Backup and Recovery:
    1. ">
    2. Implement and manage database backup strategies using RMAN and third-party backup tools (e.g., NetBackup, Commvault).
    3. Conduct regular DR drills and support recovery activities during outages or planned exercises.
  • Security & Compliance:
    1. ">
    2. Implement database security policies (user roles, auditing, encryption, patch compliance).
    3. Collaborate with InfoSec teams for vulnerability scans and remediation.
    4. Ensure compliance with data protection, GDPR, and regulatory standards.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    1. ">
    2. Develop shell/Perl/Python scripts for database monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.
    3. Automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Documentation:
    1. ">
    2. Work with infrastructure, storage, network, and application teams for cross-functional support.
    3. Maintain database documentation, runbooks, change logs, and compliance audit records.
  • Required Skills & Experience:
  1. ">
  2. 5+ years as an Oracle DBA in enterprise-scale infrastructure.
  3. Expertise in Oracle versions 12c, 19c.
  4. Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Grid Infrastructure.
  5. Experience in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  6. Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
  7. Exposure to cloud-based Oracle environments (OCI, AWS RDS, or Azure DB).
  8. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve performance and outage issues.
Preferred Certifications:

  2. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
  3. Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) in RAC or Data Guard.
  4. ITIL Foundation.
Soft Skills:
