APAC Head of IT Governance - Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to assume the role of APAC Head of IT Governance. This high-visibility leadership position will oversee regional IT governance, risk, and control frameworks across multiple countries and branches.

Job Summary:

This senior leadership role requires strong program-level management experience and a firm grasp of technology governance in a banking context.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and Maintain IT Governance Structures: Lead the establishment and ongoing operation of IT governance structures across APAC, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk and Control Processes: Oversee risk and control processes related to IT across regional entities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with various stakeholders across business and technology to enforce governance, audit readiness, and policy compliance.
  • Regional Alignment and Reporting: Drive regional alignment and reporting across multiple countries, managing relationships with local technology heads, and control functions.
  • Representation: Represent APAC IT governance in internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance initiatives.
  • Operational Meetings: Run and facilitate regional IT operational meetings, performance councils, and governance forums.
  • Crisis Management: Work closely with global governance teams to ensure consistency and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident management across the region, including maintaining the incident framework and playbooks, and coordinating with global and local stakeholders during crisis scenarios.
Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in incident or crisis management within the financial services, banking, or enterprise technology space.
  • Technology Governance: Strong background in banking and financial services technology governance.
  • Consulting Experience: Prior experience working at or with consulting firms (e.g., Big 4, Tier-1 strategy firms).
  • Regional Expertise: Deep understanding of IT operations across the APAC region within a regulated banking environment.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in leading regional IT governance, risk, and oversight programs.
  • Communication Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, especially with senior executives across regions.
  • Matrixed Organization Experience: Experience working in a matrixed multinational organization, with proven ability to drive alignment across countries.
